How Did Your Personal Style Change After Goal?
I have zero doubt you will reach your goal, HFFM. You've doin' it right, because you've got something that's essential to success: Focus on the prize.
All we ever have to every day is what we have to do that day. Sounds stupid. But it is not.

Still in the process. I am 3 months out down from a 24 to an 18. However I spent an inordinate amount of time thinking about what my style would be.
As has been mentioned on here, I too would buy clothes as long as I looked ok in them and I didn't hate them. I only had so many options.
..but now there are options! (que inspirational music!)
I love going to second hand clothing stores. I got a Dolce and Gabbana bomber jacket with fur trim. Yeah.. that is me. I might not know it ahead of time but I know it when I see it. I got my hair cut, it was longish. Now it is in a bob. One of those ones that is shortish in the back and longer in the front. With bangs. I love it. I also dyed it darker, to match my roots. I am planning on using a tone of sun screen this summer. Going to try for that dark near black hair and pale skin.
I think this style was always me, there just weren't clothes in my style in my size before.

So far 80 pounds lost!
Love, love, love all of this. That Dolce & Gabbana jacket makes me want to break into your house and steal it. My #1 shopping place for the last 3 years has been a high-end consignment shop 100 miles from home. I go there once a month and ALWAYS find something for mere pennies on the dollar, often NWTs (new with tags).
You sound like you're having so much fun!

My clothes are much more form fitting and I wear a lot of dresses now. When I was heavy, I never wore makeup and my hair was ALWAYS up in a messy bun. Now, nobody sees me with my hair up unless I am going to/from the gym. Makeup is still 50/50 lol. I also have my hair highlighted every 6-8 weeks and make more of an effort to keep it looking healthy!

Nikke, I just looked at your blog (linked to in your sig line). What an amazing story yours is! First, you are gorgeous. Second, you have undergone so much more change than "just" losing 250 pounds. And your recent trip to Ireland/London was so cool, so smart. Clearly, your style and your spirit go together. Congratulations!

Hi my name is Beth and I am a clothes addict. :)
Best question as have seen yet on OH.
I am 6 and a half weeks out and enjoying closet shopping. I have clothes with tags that were a little too snug that now fit just right. Yesterday my 14s fit and I did a happy dance. In the last 2 years I wore a lot of dresses as there were no buttons to fight with. As I grew my pants were stacked by size waiting for their come back. Even at 250 I wore 4 1/2 inch heels I am also a shoe addict. Responsibly so however if I can't pay it in full I do not buy it.
I have always had the tops that were long enough to cover the kangaroo pouch or a cardigan type over shirt. Now I'm in my blouses and leaving all the cover ups behind.
When I hit goal.. (already saving for it) I will have pencil skirts of all colors and designs.. Jackie O dresses with shades to match. And a pinstripe pant suit with a hot pink collared shirt for the days I feel like a boss. (I am a supervisor at work so I need to dress up but not in a suit) I love old time glamour and can not wait for the sleek lines and even cuter shoes when my toes loose their sausageness. For now I have 3 sizes in my closet and am excited in the last 3 weeks to be putting them on!!!

Beth -- you are a woman with a plan! You've got such a detailed concept of your style. And with your beautiful hair you could channel Rita Hayworth.
I remember the thrill of finally fitting back into my beautiful, "skinny" size 14s. "Shopping in my closet" was so much fun.
P.S. Glad you like the thread. Me, too. :)

I always tried to dress as fashionably as I was able to find... and didn't do the slouchy baggy thing. I had other obese I knew say they started changing how they dressed after watching me- I guess I was bigger than them, and if I could do it they could do it.
The biggest thing with shopping is buying something just because it works and it fits... Now I need to really love it... because you know what? there are 100 or more other ones to pick from if I want at this point...
I don't have a need to show the goods for free...but I still don't go for baggy clothes, and am not against things form fitting... I never wore dresses before, except in summer when pantyhose weren't required...now I love dresses and tall boots and whatever.
