How to survive Girl Scout Cookie season!
The last time I ate GS cookies must have been when I was one -- a Girl Scout, that is, not a cookie. I don't remember their taste, but only that a couple of them turned me off. Since then, I've not actually bought them from co-workers or friends who were selling for their kids, but just gave them the price of a box or two.
There is a variety or two that didn't exist in my day. Describe them or I'll never sleep again.
I still have my GS pin and knife. The handbook would be wonderful to have for its wonderful instructions for lots of cool things. Somewhere along the way the book was changed to not much, as I've heard. My friend of longest duration is someone I met in the troop.
The only variety I ever cared for were the Scot Teas, and wow .. they were addictive! Then, the GS stopped making those and I think changed the recipe a little and renamed them (unimaginatively) "Shortbreads". IMHO, those weren't nearly as good as the Teas. I wouldn't be surprised if now they don't even make the Shortbreads.
