What are you afraid of (just curious)

Yes.  Yes they are.

The first fall after we moved here, I parked in my garage and heard as sound that I was certain was an air leak in my tire.  I came around my bumper to find my first Wolf spider rearing up showing it's fangs and hissing at me.  It would be funny if it weren't such an ugly *******  Ours are particularly large because we live in the woods.  You can't even step on them -- they are too large and leave a terrible mess.

O.M.G. I would have totally freaked out. Like crazy freaked out and never gone in the garage again.

Was bitten on the ankle years ago. Wolf spider. Still inflammation! I kill them all with a flip flop or fly swatter! Nasty little asshats!!!

I never thought about rice!  I do the Dyson thing, too.

Just hope that the Dyson is relatively empty first!

I can handle most creepy crawlies (I don't like them though, oh hell no) but being a happy singleton means sometimes you have to put your big girl knickers on and just deal with it as quickly as possible. At least in North America you have screens on doors and windows, what I wouldn't have done for that 'luxury' in the UK.

You don't have screens?

Nope, not in the UK. Crazy isn't it? Not even new houses have them.

About a year before I moved over I found a screen kit on Amazon, basically a piece of screen fabric and some double-sided tape. It wasn't pretty but at least it allowed me to have my bedroom window open without the local bugs coming inside every night.

Of all the things I'm sure I must take for granted since being here, screens certainly isn't one of them.

I'd mostly would be afraid of being out in the middle of the woods in the dark. Every horror movie comes to mind & it's always somewhere out in the middle of nowhere. I just have no sense of direction, a tree is a tree, a rock is a rock. Camping is just so not my thing!

I don't like spiders and snakes ( I think that was a song years ago).  I'll scream like a baby at a snake.

My biggest fear is my kids' schools being under a real code blue or some other sort of life threatening situation and I am unable to get to them or communicate with them.

Terrifies me.
