Does everyone have to have an esophogram and colonoscopy prior to surgery? Just wonder if this is something typical that i should expect in the future as i have heard this from some people :(

Not sure about this. Given I had a colonoscopy when I turned 50 and an EDG within that year, I did not have to repeat them.

I had to do all that DJMohr had to do plus be current on my Pap smear, mammogram (I was 50) and have a colonoscopy for my bariatric center, have an ultrasound of my abdomen (which was a good thing because I had several 1 inch gallstones) and complete a 6 visit dietitian consult. I started in January 2016 and had surgery 9/28/2016. Good thing I got it done when I did, because my husbands company dropped all bariatric coverage January 1, 2017.
