MY 2 week pre-op diet isn't liquids only- anyone else?
My 2 week pre-op was max 800 calories with minimum 80 grams protein. However I wanted to do that. I asked the dietician specifically if it needed to be liquids only because that was what I had seen on forums and she said no and explained that a lot of programs will say that because it is just easier for some people to get that much protein in while keeping the calories that low if they just do liquids.
I am a firm believer in following whatever your practice says regarding the pre-op diet, i was just thankful that I could have some chicken or fish and non-starchy veggies for dinner everyday! I typically did do a shake for breakfast and a shake or pouch of tuna/a few steamed shrimp for lunch

I only had to do a 4 week 'liver reduction diet', and it was 3 meals and 2 snacks, 1000 calories, low carb, high protein. The day before the surgery I had to stop eating at noon and do the bowel prep. Nothing hard about it at all. I'm so happy with my surgeon when I hear about people doing 2 weeks liquid diets. Ugh, I would hate that.

Definitely varies greatly depending on surgeon (which I'm sure you've gathered by now!) - mine is a 2 week 'liver shrinking' diet and then 1 day of clear liquids. They also gave me some electrolyte stuff that I have to drink at specific times the night before and the morning of :)
