I took the family to dq for ice cream. I had some of my sweetie's. I can't believe how hard I crashed from it! I will be going to bed shortly. Wow...

I had a bite of my husband's ice cream when we were on vacay -- same thing here. Crash city.

Yup......and yup.

I had some chilled strawberries and cream cheese dip on the counter for appetizers for the tribe yesterday evening.

Kale, cranberry, grilled chicken, eggs, bacon and other stuff in a tossed salad.  Essentially a meal in a bowl.  Took me fo-eva to crunch and munch my portion.   It was 30 mins of constant chewing.   It was like a job to eat that late lunch-dinner.

I'd also stopped off at a trendy little cupcakery yesterday and picked up various cupcakes of one style or another for them, too.

I'd planned on an early bedtime last night....and was planning on 9:30pm-ish.

Swung through the kitchen to refill my Yeti cup with ice and water for the night.

Saw those cupcakes.....they'd eaten the super sized Valentines day versions...and their normal favorite seconds and more.    They'd left one.....a carrot cake version with cream cheese icing.  It'd been an impulse add in when I'd been in the bakery.  Little temptress there didn't twist my arm.....the old me just added it to the order upon sight.  Carrot cake was a favorite from years past....typical birthday cake theme for this old dude.

Anyway.....that carrot cake cupcake became part of the Valentine's Day celebration right then and there.

Lawd Have Mercy the chugar-buzz.   Added to the steroids and dwindling effects of post dinner coffee......whew.  The room didn't begin spinning like a roulette wheel or anything.....but dangitman.......the chugar rush was a thing.

Not unlike a dose of poison that went quickly through my system.

My carrot cake proclivities were satisfied until my next birthday....when likely another of those evil little cupcakes will find their way home again, lol.

Ice cream is a certain dump for me, more than any other food.  I've tried it maybe 2 or 3 times in 12 + years.  It's not worth feeling like I'm dying

I went back home to Michigan to see my mom at Christmas time and there is a regional treat there called Blue Moon ice cream. I took my kids to get some and I indulged and allowed myself about 1/3rd of a cup of it. It tasted so good at first but then I was miserable for a few hours after.

Had VSG on 9/28/15

Lost 161 lbs since surgery, LOST 221 lbs overall so far!!

I wonder what it is about ice cream but i have the same thing happen. Not only do i get all the dumping symptoms but it sits in my gut like a rock. The same way eggs sit. I am miserable for a couple hours. Now, i simply avoid it like the plague.

Oh my!  This is one thing I still encounter when I eat something sweet hat I shouldn't.  I am thankful for this tool to keep me compliant, because the lethargic, sick feeling I get after doing it, is horrible.  I literally will feel like crap for hours, sometimes even a day or so when it happens.

Sorry you had this happen, but at least you know NOT to do it again.
