Watch the clock and take a small bite every 2 or 3 mins.  Eventually you will get used to eating slower.

Put small tiny amounts in separate containers.  Eat the amount in the first container and then wait until you feel comfortable and OK and then eat the food in the second container.  You will have to adjust the amount in the cup to get the right portions.  Then as you get further out you can decrease the number of containers and or increase the amount of food. Good Luck!

I was told anything over 15 minutes was grazing.  I put leftovers away after 15 minutes.

That's what I was told as well...for AFTER the 9 weeks of recovery time.  During recovery phases, I too was told to take 20-30 mins to eat.

Right now I eat sooo slow. It takes me about an hour to consume my 3oz portion. If I eat any faster I'm uncomfortable (and trust me I'm chewing REALLY well). I hope this will get better.

Try eating less more often.  You're only 4 weeks out, are you eating dense protein now?  3 oz is a lot at only 4 weeks.  Even at soft food stage I could only manage 2 oz.  I'm over 3 months out now and can only manage 1/2 cup at a time...about 3 oz of dense protein.  In order to get all my protein in I have to split my lunch and dinner into 2 mini meals (I eat the same breakfast every day).

You might reconsider your quantity and bring it back down to 2 oz and just supplement with protein powder/shakes to get your protein in.

I have gotten a ton of conflicting information on this. What you're telling me is exactly what my Bari center has said not to do. They anticipate that I'll eat 3oz but it will take me awhile and that I'm not supposed to eat many small meals more often. They said I can add a 4th meal if I need to, but right now that need is taken up by a Premier Protein to boost my protein intake.

I am currently eating as dense of protein as possible. I am not to the point of eating "meats" yet. I just started smoked salmon and shrimp this past weekend. Before that it was eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, ricotta.

Funny enough I recently made a post about only being able to eat about 3/4 of my 2oz portion and got a lot of flack from others saying I should be able to eat more!
