for me -  it is time and ...info.. they know and they use...and are willing to learn...

I know some people who are more than 5 years post op and the are either clueless or ignorant about their WLS. and or - have a very unhealthy relationship with food and weight....

vet- 5 years post-op and have their "stuff" together... That often means they got to the goal and/or below.. maintained.. gained, lost the regain...  or on a path to lose it.... "they were and still are " in battle...

You would never hear them telling people they are "cured" or that "xxx lbs lost forever" (most of us roll our eyes on that..) They are not perfect, but, never give up trying to be better...

A vet is time served.  They don't have to know **** I can think of at least two looney tunes on here who absolutely are vets, even if they have several screws loose.  Noone said a vet had to be an expert and I know you'd have to mud wrestle those *****es to get their vet card off them. There are also several who are not yet 5 years, but who will get the key to the lounge and a big welcome party (our beloved Grim being one).  "Buyer beware" holds true, even for vets.

If you left it for people to decide for themselves you'd have a ton of "vets" who think they've "got this" at a year out, which we old timers know that is so not true.  I wasn't even in maintenance until I was 4 years out.   I could have eaten bon bons on the sofa until that point.  Living with this surgery in the long term, warts and all, is what makes us vets!

I can remember waiting with great anticipation to join a vet group on here and by the time I was 5 years out, they'd all skipped to Quix.  Some of us found our way back, but most didn't

I'm following this plan too, as it seems like most of the successful vets do it (why wouldn't you be a vet?).

I don't want to buy new clothes.  When things get tight, it's time to lose.

I noticed this in December, and I have been working on this for the last six weeks.  I've lost 25 pounds, and I'm actually below where I was when I platued post surgery.  So, what can I say, Sleevers are just like everyone else.  This thing is a tool.

My problem with that, is that I always managed to SQUEEEEEZE into clothes, and consider it 'still fitting'.... guess you have to be honest with yourself in if they truly fit or not...
