I agree - I give DH a couple of days to eat the stuff then it is either dumped or he has to hide it (some of it has to be hidden right away like homemade chocolate chip cookies).

Oh, and when I dump it I thrown something gross over it so I can't imagine retrieving it.

The thing I keep doing is going to the grocery store, looking at my list and seeing I need a food and then buying an obscene amount of it. I needed hummus. I bought two whole containers. Then I got it home and opened it and used 1 FREAKING TABLESPOON and realized, I was never going to finish the container before it spoiled let along 2 containers. I did the same thing with egg beaters, because I was going to eat those "a lot". Except, at 1/4 cup at a time it's never a lot!

I've also sat and marveled at my husband eating a whole dinner plate of food in 1/3rd the time it takes me to eat the center of a dessert plate worth. At this point I can't actually fathom my previous portion sizes.

THIS!  I can't break the habit of buying 2 of things.  I've thrown away big cartons of cottage cheese because I'd buy 2 of them.  Learning I really have to plan my menu to avoid buying things that don't freeze well.

Last night I came home with a big tub of Ricotta and my husband said "Seriously?! Again, with the big container." I had to defend myself by saying that I make an Eggface Ricotta bake that takes 8oz at a shot AND the expiration it wasn't until April!

I solved the ricotta problem by serving it to my family too. I add Costco meatballs or Italian sausage. They love it!

I definitely do this too!!! And I still get mad when everyone is eating it all!!! They tell me "well, you weren't eating it" and I tell them "SO, I MIGHT!"

I found my husband eating more and more in the kitchen because I would give him the look!  Finally he started eating what I was, just in larger quantities. He could not take it anymore LOL

OK, so I do this! Only, I'm more of a food pusher...

I buy things that I know they'll all love... things like donuts, ice cream, certain snacky foods that don't really tempt me... then I pass it out like it's Christmas... "Here, eat this... and this! And this too!!!"
