Don't do what I I did! UGH!

First let me start by saying I used to be a permanent fixture on this site..I would read and post religiously.

Fast forward almost 7 years and I am a mess. I let it all go. I got ****y, I looked and felt amazing! went from a size 26 to an 8 got a divorce and a new partner and a great job. I had a handle on life...or so I thought.

At year 5ish I started to slack on my vitamins, and with a new love life (eating out often) I didn't care, I couldn't eat much but what I COULD was rarely healthy, and alcohol...LOTS of alcohol and empty calories, wine with dinner almost every night and always the sweet kind. It was bad. Transfer addiction is a FACT...Beware!

NOW..im 42, almost 7 years out from RNY and 50lbs heavier. I woke up one day about 3 weeks ago and hated everything I was seeing. My skin looks horrible, my clothes don't fit and I felt like I could just sleep for weeks.

For the past 3 weeks, I have been taking my vitamins, journaling ALL my food, eating NOTHING I am not supposed too and working out every day. I have shed 10 of those 50 lbs so far but let me tell you...It was nowhere NEAR as easy as it was right after surgery! So...I'm back. Plan on reading and contributing frequently to keep my mind set and accountability.

New people, may this be a lesson...don't ever get too "Comfortable" it starts as a pesky few pounds and one day you wake up and feeling horrible about yourself! I am only looking forward, that is in the past, I will remember, but I will forgive myself ad journey onwards. Here is to my LAST New beginning! :)

My lowest weight was 128 and I held that effortlessly for about two years.  I have had several regains and lost again.  The lowest I have been is 130.  I hate the way I look at 130 now, so stopped trying to go low.

Every time I regain it is harder but I get the weight back off.  You can do, but you have to be patient and not give up.

Thanks Shelly,

I used to use EggFace as my "Eating bible" I was super excited to see that your blog and the site was still up! It was the first place I visited after my 5DPT, I couldn't WAIT to make the Ricotta bake again!! LOL

I just made it again last night with ham, mushrooms and Turkey pepperoni, my family LOVED it!

You lost all that excess weight before, you will lose these few pounds you put on too.

Thank you for sharing your experience, it will help others.

All too common a tale.  We get people here who laugh at those of us who stick around, telling us we have no life.  Welll guess what?  Few of us here have big regains!  Support and accountability are key to LONG TERM success.

You have done the right thing, Cloie74, hang out, post on the What Are You Eating Today threads to see what others are eating,  maybe join the Back on Track group.

You got this!

Thanks for sharing your story!  My story is eerily similar.  I've committed to getting back on track as well.  I'm aware its going to be harder but we can do it!  We can't give up! The 5 Day Pouch Test helps me get back on track and I think I'm going to do that starting on Monday.  Good luck to you and thanks again for sharing!
