What are your routine/s to start the day?

Alarm goes off.

Hit alarm 192854 times.

Finally get up, washed up, dressed.

Decide to make the bed.  Start making coffee.  Forget to make the bed.

Drink coffee and read the news, because I am apparently a masochist.  Weirdly, coffee settles my stomach well, especially with some coconut cream.

I usually IF so I wait to eat, but if I do eat breakfast I will have a protein shake or yogurt I make.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

I love yogurt!  I would love to know what it is about our coffee and tea....  I have been adding warm lemon water to my morning and it's really helped with my tummy and liver issues.

I wake up every morning at 4:45 and the first thing I do is a 20 minute work out.  It's super hard to wake up this early and exercise before work, but I find I feel better the rest of the day and just seems to set the tone for the rest of the day.  I drink two 16-oz bottles of water between exercising and about 8:30 when I eat breakfast which usually consists of egg whites with a little turkey lunch meat in them along with homemade salsa.  I am only 11 weeks post op and am not cleared for coffee until 3 months out.  The first month without it was awful, but now that I've gotten used to it, I think I will just have it as a treat now and then once I'm allowed to have it.

Hi jenl8270 as I told another member way to go with getting up so early    You are right when I was able to get both eyes open and hit the group running getting up so early set the tone for the rest of the day.  You would think at the end of the day you would be tired but I really had tons of energy.  Great job!

I love seeing how everyone else starts their day! Monday through Friday, I wake up at 5:45, go to the bathroom, step on the scale, and feed my dog and cats. While they're eating I drink some water and get my outdoor gear on, and then walk the dog from 6:00 until about 6:45. Then I shower, brush my teeth, get dressed, grab the lunch I made the night before, and head out the door.

Then, I go back in the house to grab my protein shake that I left on the counter (EVERY.SINGLE.DAY), and drink that on my commute to work. Weekends are similar, but I usually wake up an hour or so later and don't have to hurry quite as much. I also tend to make eggs, oatmeal, or crustless quiches for a more traditional breakfast on the weekends.

Weekdays: Up around 5:30, bathroom, weigh, dogs out, make coffee, dogs in, sit in sunroom with dogs drinking coffee and reading OH, start drinking water after coffee, then start WFH around 7:30, then breakfast around 8 (eggbeaters and cottage cheese).

Weekends: The same except remove WFH and add gym or Zumba after breakfast.

I am nothing if not consistent!

I have my morning schedule written down on a post-it note that's on my computer. I'm currently in "machine mode" which means I haven't fully developed my habit yet, so I have everything in writing and I don't have to think about the next step. Right now, everything is "this step."

  • Wake up at 6:30, let the dog out, give her fresh water and food, drink a cup of coffee while surfing the net and watching the Today Show. Talk on the phone with my sister. Maybe pay some bills.
  • Eat breakfast at 7:45. Usually 2 strips of turkey bacon and 1/2 cup raspberries.
  • Get dressed at 8:15.
  • Leave house at 8:45 for 9am gym class. Body Combat or Body Pump or Spin Class.
  • Drink protein shake on the way home from the gym.
  • Yuk it up with hubby on his way out for a run.
  • Weigh, shower and get to work!
