How do you "reward" your goals?

I set a bunch of goals, and for me, just being able to brag about attaining them, both here and on Facebook, was good motivation.

I plan to reward for 50 pounds gone (just hit that.. need to figure out what lol.  Maybe a small vacation with the BF or a fitbit smar****ch) then when I hit Onederland.  And when 100 pounds gone, and then when and if I hit my goal weight.

I am thinking tangible things that I can look at remind myself of the journey and achievement or perhaps experiences like going away for the weekend that I can remember as part of the journey and celebration of my successes.

So far 80 pounds lost!

I'm almost to 100 pounds and that is what made me think of posing this question here.

Along the way, I've been getting massages when I do my official monthly numbers.  I'm looking forward to camping this summer so much that it feels like a reward.  Ultimately, when I get to my goal, I'm rewarding myself with amazing experiences I have only dreamed of.  For instance, trapeze class!!  I agree with you that keeping your motivation is important, the biggest work we have is to change our brains and how we think.  I try to remind myself of how I felt three months ago (pre-surg) to how I feel now.  And I dream about how great I'll feel in the future.

I'm not much of a clothes shopper for myself but I shop for my sweetie quite a bit. EBay got me for  $141 last night but I bought 18 items including 2 pairs of size 5 black heels. She can't hardly ever find her size. Most of the time she is stuck in girls size 3 shoes.

My first big goal is to get under 200lbs. I plan on rewarding myself with a kayak. I've always wanted one but scared to get in one while so heavy. Also, I'm going to reward myself by going horse back riding. Something that can't be done while MO. My next goal after that is 100lb loss. Not sure what my reward will be but thinking a vacation. Last goal is to hit my goal weight. I will reward myself with a shopping spree for new clothes!

I'm not too far from that 199 mark as well. I've considered a kayak as well but if I go that direction I will probably go with a canoe. All of my horses start with keys, you will never see me on the back of a 1 horsepower 4 legged pooping machine!

Hahaha, but you get the idea. I like to reward myself with something I couldn't have/do before.

@Highfuntioningfatman  I am getting visuals of you wearing a Nacho Libre wrestling mask and diving off the top turnbuckle onto the bed....

Laughing my big butt off.

Goal rewards are a dang important idea.

My first few weight loss rewards, other than the health benefits, were two vacations and then recently a nice shotgun that I've been drooling over for a while.....long while.   The vacations were fun and I cut loose and didn't have a care in the world.....a celebration of much improved health over the prior few years.....felt great relief that things were gonna be alright.

Now......I've gotta get in much better shape and quickly so I can use the new scattergun to it's best capabilities.  Chasing turkeys and paddling after ducks against a current is going to require me to be a bit more streamlined and stronger.

I've got another goal reward in mind that I'll entertain once I'm at my stretch goal weight.

Live, love and make the most out of what your surgeon has done for you...........live your life without excuses and without regrets.
