How do you "reward" your goals?

Since I started this journey I've had the full support of my beautiful wife. She suggested a "reward" system to motivate me. As is typical we would usually go out for dinner previously. We decided to change that up a bit and without getting too detailed, ours is bedroom oriented. I have several big goals coming up and I just ordered a fair amount of motivational attire from ebay.

What do you do for motivation or ways of rewarding your goals?

I've seen this type of post before....I just think losing 300 lbs was reward enough for me. I still think it was enough for me.

A agree that 300 pounds is amazing, congratulations! Unfortunately not everyone can keep the motivation going as well as you did.

I totally get this (and this will sound harsh by forum post....but it's not intended that way). Someone that "can't stay motivated" just to stay thin to stay thin then shouldn't get WLS or at least shouldn't get it until they really evaluate their ability to stick to any type of regime. The first year or two are easy for all WLS. I had the DS because I knew I could take pills and eat more protein, but I knew I couldn't diet long term. People get the VSG or RNY because they can commit to eat less forever (generally).

1 to 2 years down the line- the "thrill" wears off. I got to my weight loss just after I had WLS.... I've been at goal for about 9 1/2 years....being thin is normal...it's not exciting. I take my vits everyday...but honestly, some days it's not fun. I'm in a rush- I have to stay on top of ordering new vits (some can't be bought OTC)- etc. I've tracked protein or years.....some nights, I just don't want to drink a protein shake if I haven't hit my goal.

I say ally hat to say that when the trill wears off, the rewards wear off, you'll be stuck with the things that motivate you long term. Right now you are exploring bedroom things....but...eventually you will run out of things to explore.

Just something to think of as you progress in making your initial goal!

That isn't harsh, that is the truth. Nothing wrong with that.

Purses...lots and lots of purses. Doing the math, I rewarded myself for every 2 or 3 lbs lost...lol.

I may have had a small shopping problem. ( I've not bought anything purse related in almost a year now. )

I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

Depending on where you started that could be quite the purse collection!
