In light of the report he should insist on an immediate appointment.

While a doctor might to be too concerned about this it's very reasonable that the person who has a misplaced foreign object in their abdomen would be.

Whoa!   I hope they figure out exactly what is going on sooner than later!  I'm surprised they didn't want to see him sooner, can you call and request a quicker appointment in light of the situation?
