It really is, but I have a moment to spare every once in a while.

I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

You have to serve your time to be a vet here.  5 years.  And we're very protective of it.  Anyone calling themselves that before that time will get an eyeroll and

Five years!?!  Do you get time off for good behavior?

No, but if your an arsehole, we make you wait to at least 6

There are some vets on here that give TERRIBLE advice, you'll meet them at some point, and they do get called out.  Being a vet doesn't make you special, or command respect,  it just marks your experience as a WLS'er.

This site has some very experienced professionals, (in no particular order) Drs, Lawyers, PA's, Psych PhDs, NPs, midwives, RNs, Statisticians, Science Geeks, etc.  If you answer something, you had better know what you're talking about, because I guarantee someone else will.

You'll soon get the lie of the land here and know who's got great advice and who talks bollocks - and we all have our part to play.  I rarely, if ever answer newbie questions because my brain doesn't remember that far back, but those in the honeymoon period are in a perfect position to do so.

Well, I've been called that many a time, but only by people who don't really matter.    I will be sure to establish a record for myself.

Ditto what Kim said, & yeah there are some vets that do drive by postings. I mean its ok if that's their thing, but I value the vets that stick around & give back to the community. They are rare but after you've been here you'll be able to see the difference.

Is that five years here or five years post-surgery?  If the latter, I'm in and there's no way you can get me out.

It is five years post surgery.  In that time, you have lost the weight, learned how to maintain, have dealt with regain and learned how to lose it again (hopefully).  You are no longer living in the pink cloud of easy success that follows weight loss surgery.

That's a perfect story.  Thank you.  I can make a couple of guesses as to what was said and both are very much why a bunch of people signed up for OH in the past week.

There are some of us here who also like to keep it real. A while back someone didn't like what 1 of us had to say & called us hags. We took the name, ran with it & made it our own. That poster is gone & the rest of us are still here. Some kept the hag in their username & some dropped it. The rest as you can say is history.

Love it!
