Actually maybe it is a younger person thing...I refuse to wath these so called "Reality Shows" because:
1) The producers and directors ENCOURAGE these people to act out and do bad things
2) By US watching this crap we only encourage more to crap to be put on TV...
Maybe I'm showing my age (over 50) but I'd much rather watch a good nature show, or National Geographic or something EDUCATIONAL.
Yes, I was fat too, yes I had the surgery too, bu****ching some whiny person on TV isn't making me feel GOOD about my decision to have surgery. That is all...

I have to say I love this show. I know that if I had not made changes in my life I could easily have gotten to 600 pounds myself. I was 376 at 33 years old and still didn't want to accept that I was as big as I was. I knew I needed to lose weight and had thought about WLS for a years but had kinda given up on myself because I thought I would never be able to have the surgery. I know many say Dr Now is harsh but I think he needs to be and I think more surgeons should be strict and realistic with their patients. I thank God for the miracle of the surgery I had and the new life I now have as a result.
Had VSG on 9/28/15
Lost 161 lbs since surgery, LOST 221 lbs overall so far!!
Hi reree,
I still look at my before photo and at 330 pounds I could barely walk and function. I don't know how they do it at 600. But when they start losing it's like someone gave them their life back
Our conference last fall featured Dr. Now as a speaker. I did not attend but hear he was a big sweetheart!

I can identify with and relate to everyone on the show.
I had an abusive childhood and survived it by comforting myself with food. I then became overweight and endured the judgement of others which was extremely painful.
I have also experienced several serious obesity-related health issues and am having wls so I don't die early as a result.
No, I don't weigh 600 lbs. but I don't think that matters, I am them.
I understand what they are going through and have a lot of compassion for each of them.
No one deserves that sort of pain.

I have watched this program since the beginning. It has not been easy. Frustrating watching many pts just not 'get it' on post-op life eating.
I appreciate that therapy is included now. Not always the case in early episodes....remember Penny??
Also noted that this season Dr. Now is performing VSG....maybe we'll see DS in the future.
Yes, only by grace...I can so relate!!
