Why we should watch my 600 pound life

I can't tell you how frustrated I get at times with the people featured on this show.  We have posted often about how they are given the best gift ever and then blow it by eating hotdogs?  WTH?  But that being said we should all watch this show rather you like it or not. Why?  Because there by the grace of God as they say "go I".

I jus****ched the episode about Brandi and Candy.  Broke my heart and I cried....  If you have not see it please do.  When I watched this show I was reminded of behaviors that was my life before surgery.  They would go in the back of a parking lot where no one would see them eating. I use to go through McDonald's and then to a forrest preserve to eat my lunch during work.  They could not walk very far before being in pain.  My entire left side would go numb.  The panic attacks they suffered just at the thought of going grocery shopping. I use to sit in a closet and cry trying to get up the nerve to go to work.

When one of the sisters hearts stop beating, that could have been me.  They were 29, I would not be here now if I had not had the surgery.  Watch this show and thank you stars you had surgery otherwise that could be your life story on the screen. If you lived long enough

I watched the Candy and Brandi episode too.  Talk about heart wrenching, a definite tear jerker.  On Monday I was walking at a park and there was a morbidly obese women sitting in her car in a secluded area eating fries.  She reminded me of me. My heart went out to her.  I could relate too to the reclusiveness and loneliness.  I still have a ways to go, like I said, but I am bound and determined to continue to push forward and use this tool to the best of my ability.

When she mentioned that on the show I had totally forgotten about eating in the forrest preserve...

I could relate to that too. I developed the habit of eating alone when I bought my own car in high school. It was the only place I felt safe enough to demolish tons of terrible food. The unfortunate habit became my main coping mechanism for the stress of college. I would drive to McDonalds get as much food as I "needed" to feel better, then guzzle it down. The large diet dr.pepper would wash away thefood and the loneliness of college.

It's been just over a year since I stopped doing that. Even now it's incredibly tempting to eat in secret. thank God for counseling is all I can say.

I watch the show with my husband.  He gets so mad with some of them when they make every excuse in the book why they gained weight when Dr. Now wanted them to lose x amount before he approves them for surgery.

We had watched a few of the My big fat fabulous life, but I just can't anymore.  Don't get me wrong body shaming no matter what size you are is a rotten thing, but Whitney doesn't understand that she is killing herself.

OMG me too!  How many times does she have to have a health crisis before she gets it. When she did the splits on the ski and almost broke both legs.
