So without the "Loop"....does that mean you have a real DS instead of SADI (or SIPS, or Loop DS--all the same thing)?  Just trying to get an idea of what you came out with.

The water weight is probably due to the extended time in the hospital on an IV.  It will work it's way out of you soon enough.

Three weeks after my WLS I was back in the hospital for a non WLS problem. I was put on high dose prednisone for 10 days and gained 20 pounds of fluid.

I was only taking in about 600-800 calories a day so I was sure a was losing FAT but it was still discouraging.

It took about a week to lose the fluid weight plus some extra.

Hi! Hang in there. I, too, came home weighing more than on surgery day. I'll come off. After my c-section, it took two months or so for all the fluid to be gone, with breastfeeding. You'll get there.

Thanks ? My surgeon did prescribe me some lasix and that has helped tremendously.  I am now only 2 pounds away from my surgery date weight.

I see him tomorrow. I really hope the drain tube comes out.
