I was always quite slim and quite active/athletic most of my life. I started to gain weight in my early 30s also after a traumatic event that happened to me that triggered a "F#ck it" attitude and I ate to numb the pain and push the emotions down with food, I wanted to disappear from the world and I figured eating my way to oblivion was a good idea (obviously not but you get the point). I also love sweets and love big portions, plates of spaghetti, whole pizza's and eating a birthday cake all myself was my "thing."  All that combined got me to the path of WLS.

I am 45 yrs old, had surgery Nov 13, 2013, I am 3 yrs post op and I weigh 125 lbs currently from my highest weight of 275 lbs and my surgery weight was 254 lbs.  I had the RNY surgery and it was by far the best thing I ever did for myself.  Its hard work and I struggle every day with my sugar addiction but I come to OH daily, I follow the "rules" and I think in my humble opinion I am successful.

Best of luck to you, I think you are making an awesome decision and I am super excited for you to star this journey to your best health!
