Scheduling meals

Does anyone out there schedule their meals -- as in, set an alarm for certain times and eat a pre-portioned meal at that time?

I have no issues with my liquids (could always drink more), but if I am not careful, I will end up shorting myself on protein because I currently have no compelling reason to eat (other than that whole death by malnutrition aspect) so I'll sometimes end up missing a meal, or two.  So I was thinking that if I just made sure I had my meals pre-portioned, I could schedule my small meals to ensure that I actually ate enough to get my protein in.

Just looking for feedback or ideas.

I think that, if that works for you, it's what you should do!

Either before I go to bed, or in the morning, I figure out when I'll be eating for the day to come.  My schedule can be weird and variable due to my classes so it can be challenging.  Sometimes, I will set an alarm so I don't forget!

I know in the beginning I would use protein shakes to make sure I was getting enough. I sometimes have to remind myself to eat. I actually like those days sometimes. 

If it helps you then by all means schedule your meals.

I definitely did that for the first few months out because I honestly and truly forgot to eat. If that's what it took, and it worked? Why the heck not?!

I used to look up at 2:00 PM and realize that I had missed my lunch.  I had a co-worker who thought that was funny.  He started reminding me when it was noon.

I schedule my meals for the opposite reason, as I would eat all day without a schedule.  I keep to this quite strictly.  I am never hungry unless it is head-hunger or reflux acting up.

I also do IF and just eat 1-2x a day in a six hour window, though.  I easily can get 65g of protein in two meals.  I don't really eat veggies or starch though, mind.  Yep, I'm the weird low carb lady. ;)  If I switch to the DS I will definitely add more times for eating in.  For now though, it's sufficient.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Me, too!! I do not "allow" myself to eat until my scheduled times or I, too, would be eating all day.

But unlike you, I am always hungry.

:( That sounds annoying.  Part of it is my diet is high in fat, and fat is the most powerful biochemical trigger for satiety.  Pre-op I was starving all the time.  I have no idea whether it was the surgery or the diet change that caused it primarily, however I used to go insane from starving all day no matter what I ate.
