Heated Gloves???!

So, my hands just aren't taking to this new way of always being cold... and it's the WORST in the mornings when I'm driving to work (I don't have a heated steering wheel, but my next car will!)...

So I googled 'heated gloves', and was reading the reviews on Amazon... Mixed reviews.

So, I thought of all of the Northern/Canadians on this board, who must also have cold hands after losing a crap ton of weight, and thought I'd see if any of you have a great suggestion.

I desperately need something, and it seems to me that plain old gloves just don't do the trick... especially when driving.

So, how do you keep your hands warm in the car? Do you have the heated gloves? A special brand or style you love?

Help a cold-handed girl out, please!

I agree that the disposable hand warmers are great, and I have used them when we are outside for long periods of time (even prior to surgery)... but I'm hoping to find something that a.) is better for the environment, and can be reused and I don't feel like I"m wasting them for a 30 minute car drive and b.) back to that reusable thing... my car would look like a hand warmer cemetery because I'd never clean them out of the car... and c.) the cost would add up over time, so I thought maybe if any of these 'heated' gloves I was looking at worked nicely, then they'd be an investment, of sorts?

I'm looking to order these tonight - for my cold Wisconsin winter days!  Good reviews - with lined fingers inside the glove -- some call them "Glittens"  lol

Those are pretty! I think I want a pair, but not so sure how well they'd work while driving? I guess I do a lot of things while I drive, like drink water, and vape... not sure they'd work (of course, if I quit vaping....)... but they'd work GREAT for when we're just out doing things. I LOVE the red pair! Thanks!

You can get a lot more use out of the disposable hand warmers. The chemical is activated in air, so if ou seal them in an airtight Ziploc bag when you get to work, you can get a week's worth of use out of one pair.

Really John??! I had NO CLUE... I have a couple pair of them... I'll definitely give this a try!

Is it better than when we used to put the glow sticks in the freezer? Because you just so reminded me of that!

What kind of gloves do you use now? Just the plain knit cheapie ones? I grew up in WA and the basic ones were never warm enough, so I always used these-- Isotoner driving gloves. They've got a layer of insulated material inside that's the same stuff used in potholders, so it does a great job of reflecting heat!

How about a DIY solution? I've contemplated making some of these: microwave hand-warming gloves. Heck, you could just make some teeny little rice bags out of felt and pop the felt in a pair of stretch gloves from the dollar store.

I second that - if you have a good pair of gloves, and you keep them in the house, not the car, you should be okay. You could always keep them over the heat register closest to your front door so that they're nice and toasty when you first put them on - your hands will take over and the car will be warmed up by the time the heat from the register wear off.
