Any advice is greatly appreciated!
It takes much nerve to reach the point of opening up to wls, so we all know what you've been feeling. I had the duodenal switch over 11 years ago and honestly, aside from eating for my health and paying attention to my nutritional needs, I didn't feel much sacrifice to my success. You can DO this.
There are three WLS procedures you want to learn all you can about:
- RNY aka Gastric Bypass - the most widely known
- Duodenal Switch - around since 1988, most drastic, but yields best long term results
- Vertical Sleeve aka Gastric Sleeve or VSG - got respect from insurance companies about 8 years ago, but around longer as half of the duodenal switch. This is replacing LapBand as a restriction-only procedure and much safer long-term than the problems the LapBand caused
