Question about gas pain post op

Hi again, I was wondering how long the gas pains last? I'm almost 2 weeks post op and still having significant gas pain, even taking gas-x gel capsules twice a day.

My surgeon suggested Nexium for gas pain but I did some research on this pill - a common side effect is gas! And many people said it gives them gas. 

I'm reallllly hoping this goes away in time!

Everyone is different on how long they experience gas and some never do.  It's a great idea to post these questions on your surgery type forum.  You will be reaching out to those that had the same surgery as you.

I hadn't my surgery Dec 21st and the gas felt like it was completely gone on the 24th.  This was my experience but everyone is different. 

I had gas pain for several weeks, maybe even the first month or two. Nothing like the pain at the hospital though. 

Avoiding dairy helped a lot.
