Carrie Fisher Dead at 60 - this is why we have surgery!

Sigh.....we have lost so many this year.  No, Carrie Fisher did not battle obesity her entire life but she did share openly her drug and alcohol struggles.  And she had gained weight over the years.  We just can't abuse our bodies and live to tell the tell.

This is why I had surgery, the fear I would not live out my 40's, see my 50's and experience my 60's.

May 2017 be a healthy one for us all.

RIP Carrie!!!

Yep. Fear of health problems keeps me on track. My boyfriend had a stroke a year and a half ago. I had surgery long before that, but it helped me focus on all areas of my health instead of just my weight. My boyfriend is doing the same, thank goodness. We want to live life to the fullest and will do everything we can to do that.

RIP, Carrie Fisher and George Michael.

Hi Laura,

I am so sorry to hear about your boyfriend.  Sounds like I am reading my post.  I had surgery, my husband did not. Had his first stroke 12/2010 and died 12/2015.  I hope your boyfriend listens to you and make changes soon before it's too late!

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you have found some semblance of peace.

My boyfriend has made a lot of changes in the past 18 months. He has lost weight and exercises everyday. I am sad it took a stroke for him to realize he has to take better care of himself, but I am thankful he got the message loud and clear.

Very very very very very sad over 2 of my childhood icons dying this week.

I had surgery to experience life.....I was alive but a prisoner of my body and I did not want to just live, but wanted to be able to be with family and do things with them.

RIP Carrie and George

Seeing people die in their 50s and 60s makes me sad and I want to see those years. I hope that the changes I've made the last two years are enough and are life long changes so I can.

I'm so sad at everyone we've all lost this year.

That's why I had surgery now--my joints are shot, but I didn't have diabetes or heart disease...yet. My older sister had been diagnosed with diabetes last year, and my blood pressure was starting to climb. Warning sirens! I have my first grandchild now, and I intend to be healthy enough to play with her for years to come!
