We have a tradition in my family where we take a picture under the tree each year. My mom keeps those pics and DH and I have an album of pictures. My brother and his family has an album and my niece and her DH has one now too. I love the tradition but I could not get over it this year when looking at them at the difference of how I look in them. It just stunned me to see it like that.

2013 and 2014 I was around 377 pounds. In 2014 I had just had my cancer scare and made my appt for January 2015 to talk about the RNY. Christmas 2015 I weighed 246. This year I weighed 144.

Just holy crap, I'm so thankful I had this surgery! In 2013 and 2014 I couldn't stay long at Christmas because of my migraines and needed the lights turned down. So not the case anymore, I rarely even get a headache now. My health is so much better. It's so hard to believe.

Wow, what an amazing transformation!  You look so healthy and happy, and absolutely great!

I can't wait to start my journey in the new year. 15 more days until I start Optifast.

Take care,

Kathy

This is wild! I love this tradition! I hope seeing this gives you the boost you need to help with the stressful time you've been having.

Thank you :) I'm choosing to put that behind me and looking forward to getting training in the new year for the part of my job that was causing me so much stress last week!

Good for you for taking back your health! I also suffer from migraines. Mine have mostly gone away, but now my biggest trigger is sugar. I ate some sweets on Christmas and woke up the next day with a severe migraine. It is my reminder that I should not eat sugar. I know this, but still pu**** every now and then

Oh that is a good reminder! I always tried doing the food sensitivity checks to see if they were triggering them at all but never found that to be the case. The only thing I ever discovered is definitely no red wine for me ever or I will definitely have a migraine. For the 3 years prior to RNY I was having daily migraines and was traveling to a special migraine clinic to get treatments and spending a ton of money insurance wouldn't cover for testing and special injections. There are so many good things I've had but I think not being in daily pain is the best :)
