you will feel so much better if you do( I am totally the devil on your shoulder) if you are not having any issues with your incisions, I say go for it!

Just remember that the devil on someone's shoulder wouldn't be involved if somebody got a nasty infection and ended up in the hospital... ;)

Positive? Nope. Responsible? I hope.

My point is that we, as semi-anonymous people on the Internet, need to be careful with our advice, because ultimately we're responsible if something goes wrong when a person goes against doctor's orders :)

I don't consider myself a Dr. and if anyone comes on this forum and expects to get professional medical advise they are ultimately responsible for THEIR choices. MY experience was I had no issues taking a bath. I was giving my opinion, NOT medical advise. and NO we are NOT responsible for the actions of others. You might think you have that kind of power, but I do not.

And by giving your opinion YOU can get someone else in a lot of trouble.  Tell me how will you feel if the OP takes a bath and ends up in the ER with a very serious infection?

So, I guess she could tell the Dr. that she took advice from an anonymous, no medical person on an anonymous internet forum so i guess we could blame her...

Are you people serious? REALLY? this is GROWN woman who asked a bunch of non medical people their opinion and did what she wanted to do.Do YOU all thnk you have that kind of power over another person?? I do not.

She didn't ask if she could smoke crack now, or go out and do shots and have unprotected sex, nor did she ask to bathe in a crocodile infested  swamp.

Get a grip people.

I had complications so I couldn't for months.  Missed my baths so bad!!!  Yes, every surgeon is different and it's best to do what they say.  On the average it depends on when you no longer have any open spots and you are healed from the surgery site.

Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing

Okay so I went ahead and took a bath, just made sure not to have my incisions under water for too long. Everything went well and no problems! It was heaven!

Good for you! By the way, if you get an infection it will be my fault!
