EEEEEK! Not losing weight?
I'm six months out and have had several stalls...some lasted a month. It's different for everyone when these happen...but they will happen, and likely more than once. I've noticed when they do hit is when I notice I've lost inches.
You're also just a week out and this could also just be a reaction to the trauma of surgery.
Good luck to you and congratulations on making it this far!!

This is so true, and so weird to me. My loss has been feeling sluggish the past few weeks, but literally I've gone down a full size in that time. I bought a new winter coat the first of December that I thought would get me through the winter since it was pretty snug. It's already baggy now. This weight loss is a funny journey.

Agree!! I have a new coat due to be delivered today (risky to order online, I know). Am hoping it gets me through the winter as well.
Happy Holidays!

Your expectation are similar to what mine were at that stage!. I don't know where I got the idea that weight would "FLY OFF". you have to lower your expectations! hard lesson learned for me.
As someone told me( I think on this forum) you just had 7 holes poked in to your stomach and your guts rearranged.you need to be patient with yourself.
I only weighed at the docs office for the first 3 months - I knew the normal variability would drive me crazy. Suggest you back off the scale - weigh no more than 1/wee****il you have lost and are phasing into maintenance. You will not have so many scale induced downer days, and you can keep your focus on the things you can control - fluids, protein, vits and regaining mobility.
Also, learning to delay gratification can be an important skill.

It's frustrating to not see the scale move when you are following your plan... I think old diet fail worries creep in but no worries... everyone is different... some lose fast, some slow and steady, some in big spurts with lots of stalls. We are unique snowflakes. Concentrate on the life changes... not on the scale #'s because making those changes will help those #'s stay down forever.
Exactly! You said what I couldn't figure out--the old diet failure worries! That's what was really worrying me. Thanks!

I know I'm only echoing what everyone else said but do not compare yourself. That way lies madness. I did that and it drove me crazy and I spent the first 2 months being terrified that I wasn't losing and I was behind where I should be. While I was a slow loser in the beginning I've more than made up for it later and you can too. My 'secret' was literally just sticking to the plan. That's it.
You can do this!
