Have my approval for a revision.  Its scheduled for the December 19th.   Life has thrown me some curves and I really need to reschedule it for mid March.  Is there an "expiration date" on approvals?

TIA

It's worth a phone call.  My approval with UHC was good for 6 months, but I'm not sure if that is consistent with other companies.

I think the caveat here is -- Does your insurance plan change significantly starting January 1?  Are they going to exclude WLS starting January 1?  Other than that -- I don't think there is an expiration date.

There is an expiration date and your insurance company can tell you what it is.  Mine was six months.

I have BC/BS out of NJ.  My plan allows for 6 months.

Good luck, I hope things settle down for you!

Now that you've had somoe more time to think about the "curves" are you sure you need to postpone the surgery?

If you really need to postpose - It's all well and good to ask here -- but it only matters what your ins co determines,  Contact them ASAP, or have your drs office contact the ins carrier.  The 19th is fast approaching.
