Hi Angel

My highest weight was 276 lbs.  I lost to 168 lbs. and maintained for 5 years.  I still had high blood pressure and diabetes.  I gained 30 lbs. to qualify for a RNY which was going to "cure diabetes and high blood pressure".  I weighed 203 lbs. with jeans, sweatshirt and heavy boots the morning of surgery.  My BMI was 35.  If I had weighed in at less than 200 lbs. the morning of surgery my insurance would not have paid the surgeon or the hospital because my insurance plan would have viewed my RNY as unnecessary.  Also the surgeon gave me a huge pouch, large stoma and short bypass because he viewed me as a "lightweight".  Be careful about losing too much weight before surgery and ask your surgeon the size of stomach he is leaving you with.  A bad WLS is worse than no WLS.  Tri
