My surgery is December 21, I start Optifast on Wednesday and I have a really bad cough and cold.  I've been sick for about 2 weeks and have tried all the over-the-counter meds and it's not going away.  I went to the walk-in clinic a few days ago and was told its viral.  This Wednesday I also have my pre-op appointment...I hope they don't postpone my surgery :(

Cathy I have no idea what that is or how it got there....I'll have to look at my settings as I do not remember doing that.

If in doubt, call your surgeon's office in the morning and ask! They can help you out over the phone and hopefully put your mind at rest before your Wednesday appointment.

You have weeks to go, so you'll be fine.  Only if you have an active infection will they postpone surgery.

I had a cold when I had my RNY and when I had plastic surgery. I did not have a fever so my surgeries went on as scheduled.

Ask your doctor at your pre-op, but I think all will be fine. Rest up over the next 16 days.

Colds do not last much more than 3 weeks from catching them to them ending. You will be fine.
