Friend Requests
So, I've sent out a few friend requests to people that I thought would be a good resource for me to talk to, or just to keep an eye on their personal story. I'm in the stages of having VSG done. But, I've seen to notice that people don't except them. Does anyone else find that happening to them?
If you would like to follow my story add me as friend. I will add you back because we all could use help, opinions, suggestions or just someone to talk to!
The 'friend request' thing on here isn't like on FB. You can communicate on forums and can private message people directly whether you are friends or not. Messages from non- friends don't get hidden like on FB. They don't really even have it set up so you see them that easily.... I have missed many friend request for months, and not on purpose
So I wouldn't take it personally... just use the forums and get to know people.

I don't know that being "friends" on Obesity Help actually does anything? I recommend that you head to the VSG forum http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/vsg/ and join in discussions there.

I don't take anything personal. I don't expect this to be like Facebook. But, support from people would be always nice. I know it's not expected. I shouldn't have to "Seek" support on a site like this. We should all support each other and it's easier being friends with people instead of trying to find them all the time to send a message, or to check in with them to see if they're doing alright. I've been on this site for a few years now and I guess that part never changes.
You can get support from all kinds of people, not just those that are friends. I can understand if you just want to pm certain people & not put everything out there.
Since you've been on here for a few years you probably have a good idea on who posts/shows support on a regular basis, wouldn't that be more helpful than the friend who might be around on the hi & bye?
