Thanksgiving NSV

This year I hosted Thanksgiving...eight of us in all. I live alone so don't do a lot of elaborate cooking for just myself...really just the basics. I love to cook for others, though so I really enjoy it when I have my family over for a holiday.

In years past I would get through it o.k., but it would be a physically exhausting ordeal. My back and knees would ache and I'd be on the sofa unable to move after everyone left, and the next day as well.

This year was completely different, and even though I'm very much aware of my weight loss, the differences took me by surprise. I was on my feet for 2 days cleaning, cooking, etc. but REALLY enjoying it all. I had music on, was singing as I was chopping veggies, setting the table, etc. I was just...happy. My body wasn't sore and I had energy!

When my family came they were shocked to see my weight loss (I hadn't seen them for a couple of months). My brother said, "You're freaking me out... you look 30!" I'm 52, so needless to say that was a nice boost for my ego. But secondary to being able to meet the physical demands of the day.

Am so thankful to have my health back!
