I don't have the bad breath with Ketosis, or at least everyone lied when I asked them... lol. But I don't base my dieting off whether a bf or husband would run away LOL. Sometimes, I wish my bf WOULD run haha. But yeah I've never heard of low carb being bad for you.

At 50g of carbs you may not even be in Ketosis.... I am going to say I stayed in that range... and still do not more than 50-75 carbs in maintenance on a normal day. ...because if you are eating protein first, how can you not? And yes there is a big difference between eating spinach or a biscuit... and yes on special days do I eat more carbs? Of course, but not everyday is a celebration :)
My surgeon's mantra- which I think is a good one- "Protein first, then veggies and then IF you have any room fruits then carbs" So he never says no carbs- because we all know how we are about being told "no!" ...just put it at the end of the list. I probably felt more freedom to have an occasional carb during weight loss- and mean occasional once every week or two....than I do now in maintenance...
And great job on making changes and moving forward....this is a constant mental dialog...it starts in our minds before we choose what we put in our mouths...
