Hi ... can this piece of paper the dr gives you when you weigh in be used to calculate a goal weight that is reasonable

with a lean body at 103.21

and with allowable fatat 27-50 lbs -  you r goal should be between 130-150 lbs to get body fat% at 21-33 %

I personally believe in body fat% 20-30%; in which case - unless you can increase your muscle mass - your goal should be 130- 145lbs.

when at130lbs - your body fat% would be close to 21% and at145 lbs you would be closer to 30%...

normal is consider 25-30%; lean 20-25%

unless you lose muscles and bone density - the safest- the lowest goal should be 130lbs for you ...aiming at135 is not only realistic but doable.

Not sure how to answer this based on numbers and a piece of paper?  Surgeons usually set a goal weight but the decision is up to you.  You know what you feel comfortable with and what your body feels comfortable with. For example, you may have a number in your head like 120 and you get there but you struggle and it's a fight to where it consumes your life.  But if you go to 130 you find your body and you are comfortable with it.

I found my goal weight was one I liked how I looked but more importantly how much I could do at that weight.  I loved to bike, do zumba and other activities and it was easier at "my" goal weight than my surgeons.

Sorry I know it was not the formula you wanted but after 12 years I think this is more of an honest answer than a number.

Good Luck to you and do what is best for you

Hala had good advice. But be aware that any of the numbers on an electrical impedance machine can be off. By a LOT. There are many things that create errors. Even something as simple as how much you had to drink that day.

If you want really accurate inforation, look for a place that does dexa body composition scans.

Ok ... I googled it and found my answer .

I was reading about all of the different ways of measureing body fat and had to laugh at the thought of a "skin fold test " that would be completely inaccurate for someone that has 2 weight loss surgeries and 4 children ( one twin pregnancy )  .... skin fold test .... hahahaha

I hear ya.

I was oddly shaped after my boys were born. I had a permanent pointy upper tummy. 16 years later, 150 lbs lighter...and I still have my pointy upper stomach. I swear it looks like I had a baby Conehead. And since it's just skin...it's a DROOPY conehead preggo tummy.

I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

I had this sweet little young new mommy come to my door ... she was my neighbor and I asked her how she was doing and feeling and she just busted out crying that " her tummy looked like a kangaroo pouch... if he wanted to he could just crawl right back in to all the excess skin..."
