Carb and sugar cravings
Ok thanks! No, it doesn't bother me at all, but was just wondering about longer term exposure. It might become something I keep to occasional weekends...

Same thing for me... a cup of decaf in the evening with a little sf Torani and Cool Whip just is magic.

I also have a decaf coffee (no syrup) every night around 8:00. The perfect end to my day and just feels like a treat to me. It has taken my cravings away for months.

If it is meal or snack time, eat protein and that should help. If between or after meals/snack time I agree with the others on good options. I do find that eating every 2-3 hours and always sipping on water helps curb those cravings somewhat.

Also, a good super low calorie snack that helps satisfy my sweet cravings is Swiss Miss Light hot chocolate (25 calories). I add some Torani sugar-free caramel to make it taste really decadent.

Is funny how our tastes change, isn't it? I was never much of a tea drinker... now I love it. Am also thankful for foods I used to love pre-op that I no longer like. Fried foods being at the top of my list. The taste of the oil grosses me out. At least I have a couple of good examples to off balance the sugar cravings. Thanks Rachel!

I plan my day's meals... so when I've eaten the day's allotment knowing that anything beyond that has to be made up for somehow usually stops me from having anything and... there is something about having the day in writing psychologically you have to make that conscience choice to go beyond... when you are without a plan you can easily graze several hundred calories more.
If you have a bewitching hour... you could build in an appropriate meal or snack into your plan for that time... I'll do protein bar cookies or a piece of protein cake or in the summer I sometimes do a shake or scoop of protein ice cream.
I agree too with the above who said find a hobby... maybe a place to walk each night or a physical activity to blow off some stream... kickboxing, crossfit, I have a body opponent bag in my garage I turn on music and beat the crap out of... stairs in the neighborhood or bleachers you could run up and down a few times (not sure your physical abilities so forgive me if this is not an option.)
Then finally... I hope the stressful job is at least something you love... because stress raises cortisol and that doesn't help weight issues and we all know what it does to our blood pressure and heart... so if you don't love it... maybe consider a change ;)
