Health Insurance - Pre-existing Condition
Just for anyone who does not know, if the laws are changed and insurance can once again be denied due to pre-existing conditions, most of us have one.
Four years ago I needed to purchase health insurance. I was denied because of my pre-existing condition which is weight loss surgery. The policy I finally found was $1,300 a month for a single 64 year old woman.
If I had not have had surgery, it would have been about $700.00 per month buying on my own.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
This is scary. I can't think of a person who doesn't have a preexisting condition. My family and I toyed with moving, but now I feel it's too risky to give up my gov't job and low cost/full coverage health coverage. I'm staying put till some grass grows under Trumps feet.

My experience was in 2012. Under Obamacare, they cannot deny you or charge exorbitant rates for pre-existing conditions.
President-elect Trump has said he will replace Obamacare with a health savings account. How good are you at saving? My open heart surgery this year was $200,000.
This is a good time to hang onto good insurance if you have it.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
No one knows what will happen to health insurance. I am hoping any changes made will help everyone, especially people like me who now have to pay a lot more for my family's health insurance.
This probably would have been a better reminder BEFORE the election. From the numbers I am seeing, over 40% of people eligible to vote did not vote. This is the lowest voter turn-out since 1996. That makes me sad.
