10 days until my surgery and sorta struggling

I've had a good week eating wise. I have lost 8.8 lbs since last Monday. Hopefully, I can make it 10 by Tuesday morning.

My surgeon's office "makes" us buy their food to eat during pre-op. Originally I was going to try and do the 800 calorie pre-op by figuring out things I could eat at the grocery store and just make sure it was under 800 calories. I just gave in and bought their expensive food though because it was overwhelming me too much to try and figure it out on my own (I have anxiety issues) and I already had too much other stuff going on.

Plus, I didn't want to accidentally eat something I shouldn't and there be food left over in my stomach etc.

I am excited to have already lost what I've lost but I am also struggling today I guess. I am so ready for my surgery to be over with. It's so hard to wait. I feel like this wait is taking forever and the longer I go on this diet the more I start craving stuff... ugh!

I CAN do this, just having a rough day and it's really hard to make dinner for my family right now and not put any of it in my mouth. It's hard to also sit there and watch them eat it while I am eating the stuff I have to eat. I don't want to feel resentment towards my family eating. I chose this and I know it will be worth it.

Hoping tomorrow will be a better day. I am just tired of feeling hungry and my throat feels so tight from my anxiety.

I was on the same 800 plan pre op as you are now.  So I feel your pain.  But it is all worth it! Before you know it you will be post op and losing weight and feeling better!  Try and drink lots of water.  It helps with hunger now and makes a great habit after surgery. Good luck!  You can do this!

It truly will be a distant memory! Stick with it...it is so worth it. Even starting this journey, I never really thought I would get where I am. A wise person here said in the beginning- "Be a Machine" and it is the truth. Stay focused, because while there will be ups and downs mentally and physically the weight comes off easiest in the beginning...first year. When I started I said "If I am going to do this crazy thing I am going to make it my job." and I did.

You can do this!

It is absolutely hard.  I remember it, and the difference between the day post-op and pre-op was like night and day.  My surgeon does 24 hours NPO in the hospital after surgery, and I was terrified.  I never was able to eat under 1000 calories pre-op.  I barely white-knuckled it through the liquid diet.  The day after surgery it was so much easier.

Hang in there and don't forget to be kind to yourself over the next eight days.  You can get through it

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Thank you. Today I have had a better day and haven't felt as hungry or anxious. :)

You've done an amazing job, go you! It's not easy, but it's SO worth it, even though the anxiety in your head might disagree with that now. Hang in there!

This pre-op phase is really just a blip on the radar of your entire WLS experience.  It is oneof the hardest parts for many of us.  Maintenance being the hardest, but his is right up there!

Keep focused on the bigger picture - you can do this and you are worth the effort!
