If you are looking for some post-op dishes (or want to practice pre-op) these are inexpensive and being porcelain you don't feel like you are eating out of kid dishes.  They work pretty well.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

I measured the volume of all my bowls after WLS, as well as use some mini mason jars and purchased some custard cups and small bowls that go with my dishes. I also have some of those wide flat soup dishes with the wide rim. I've got 4oz, 6oz, 8oz, 12oz covered. With something like salad that doesn't weigh much, the 12 oz bowl makes sure I am not going over too much volume. Will still weigh the meat I add on top...just want to make sure on the volume.

That's actually an excellent point.  It's probably better to buy a 6oz size if you want to eat 4oz for that reason.  I don't eat much salad anymore, so I didn't even think of this!

I rarely eat salad either... but I also like the soup bowls if I am having multiple items...that I have weighed. I will put my meat and veggie in there, that way I know the volume isn;t too much either.

I also have some sets of pampered chef glass bowls that come with lids and have measurements on teh sides, so if I want to portion something out after I make it I can do it immediately.

I got some ramikans like this and make the whole family use these. I got rid of our big bowls and plates. When I buy paper plates, I use the dessert plate size. I think that I have more leftover food because the kids are eating less which we use for lunch.

I have a set of 8 oz ramekins, and I almost always use them.  I'm 17 months out, so a cup of (most) food is perfect for me.  My ramekins make that easy!

Corningware has some lids you can buy individually in a bunch of different sizez that will fit them (see the corningware/kitchen stores at Tanger Outlets). I picked up lides for a bunch.
