Hey everyone ?

Yesterday I had my 3 month bloodwork follow up with my aftercare clinic.  My bloodwork came back with good levels so far so yay ?? my weight loss is amazing me so far and I love the nsvs that come with the weight coming off. 

The physician then went on to talk to me about being careful to watch for any stomach pains as an issue we could potentially face down the road are internal hernias.   He suggested that I look into getting a medic alert bracelet or necklace in case I'm ever unable to speak for myself.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has been given the same suggestion... If you have a medic alert and what exactly you put on it?!  

I've seen old recommendations that RNY patients have an alert bracelet saying "no blind scope" because of rearranged guts, but I don't think it's common (nor necessary) anymore.

I do, however, have a Road ID that I use while out cycling or running. I can store my entire medical history online, and it can be unlocked by an EMT or an ER doctor with the serial number on the back. I figure that since I'm "medically interesting" and take several meds for bipolar that medical folks should be aware of. I have the sport version, and I wear it on my shoe to run or on a wristband while cycling. I really recommend it.

Put Medicalert into the search function.  This is a doozy of a subject and I'm sure there are several old threads with all the different opinions.

Personally I would rather an EMT or paramedic gave me aspirin if I'm having a heart attack.  I'll worry about the ulcer I probably won't get from one pill to chance

-I have a big pendant with the "no blind NG tube" warning. It also says RNY and asthma and no pencillin and a million other things.
