Chronic Lab Levels...
Seeking advice on chronically low lab levels... Had several gastric surgeries (with countless complications) from 2011 - 2012. Truth be told I have nothing but absolute regret for ever getting my very first surgery; it ruined my life and if I could take it back I would do it in a heartbeat, my quality of life is essentially nonexistent at this point... Since that time I have struggled with chronic alert / undetectable lab levels including Iron, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Vitamin B1 and others. Under instruction of my physicians I have been doing infusions, injections, supplements, etc to try and help restore these levels to a somewhat normal balance. Unfortunately it has been to no avail and I am still deficient in numerous aspects. At my most recent visit my physician went as far to say that certain undetectable levels can lead to neurological deficits, some of which I am already exhibiting symptoms of... I am at a complete loss - I am doing everything I have been asked to do. The physicians have no other idea's - they simply keep saying the same things over and over as if there are no other options and it is a losing battle... If anyone has any information / experience / guidance they would be willing to take the time to share I would be so incredibly humbled and appreciative. Thank you in advance and God bless!
What doctors have you seen? Have you seen a hematologist? Do you have other options for second opinions? Have you seen an endocrinologist?

I have requested the specific report be sent to myself for review. So far I have been told Vitamin D is undetectable which means it is at a level less than 13. Vitamin B12 is between 100 - 140. Vitamin B1 is undetectable with no reference level at all given. I see oncology who monitors Iron levels including Ferritin which was 5 prior to the last infusion. ... God only knows what other levels could be off at this point given these results and my lack of intake / daily struggle...
Go to the Vitalady website and to their contact page. Choose Contact Michelle and let her know you need help. She will look at your labs and figure out the right supplements for you. Doctors don't have the time or the knowledge to do that for you. Michelle went through this herself and built her business to help weight loss patients get and stay healthy.

Not cool.
I had issues with some of mine.
B12 - I get weekly injections 1000mg. My body had problem converting from b12 cyanocobalmin to methycobalmin - I got methyl injectable (insurance would not pay for that) to get my b12 restored. Now I get cyno- weekly, but also take SAME and MSM to help with methylation. (to convert from cyano to methylcobalmin)
D - I used 50,000 iu dry D3 daily for 2-3 months to get my D to normal level. Now I maintain it at 2x a week 50,000 iu dry.
B1 - capsule..daily.on top what is in my multi. I try to use capsules - because I have problem with breaking down pills)
When body gets really low -"it may require daily shots to bring the numbers up.
Iron - I needed infusions...
I take digestive aids to help with digesting and asimilation vitamins ...to help break down the pills and capsules.
When I was rebuilding my levels I was taking pills by a handful.
Parasites, bacterial infections Candida- all will contribute to very low levels..

See; I've tried all of these things and it is frustrating. It's like a losing battle... Its so hard to find something, anything that actually works... I have some amazing general dr's who are going above and beyond the scope of their practice because we are limited with specialist in our area, but there is only so much that can be done before the answer continues to be "keep doing such and such" (despite the fact that it isn't working as evident in lab results, etc)... It's hard to say the least...
