can anyone tell me anything about an tummy tuck or lipo? Which one is better and has anyone had one and if so, what was your experience with it?

If you have loose skin, which many of us do after massive weight loss, lipo will remove the fat, but leave you with even more loose skin. If your surgeon thinks you need lipo, he can do it with the tummy tuck.

Are you at goal? Or close? If so, start making appointments with plastic surgeons to see what they say.

Totally different procedures. If you just had massive weight loss ...than you will need a tummy tuck (or a Lower body lift) to remove excess skin.

I weighed almost 500 lbs when i had the DS. I lost 300 lbs. They removed a ton of skin, but very little fat...i just didn;'t have any left.

Most people need more than just lipo. Sometimes Doctors do some lipo at the same time as the lower body lift or tummy tuck to help with the contouring. Lipo not always needed as Scotti said. I didn't need lipo either.

Plenty of posts to check out on the Plastic Surgery forum.
