unless you are eating pre packaged cheeses/ servings at all times then there is a huge chance you are eating more than 600 calories a day.

This is one of the great things about logging: if you log really closely, you KNOW you are eating well, and you can ignore scale fluctuations. If you don't log, that voice in the back of your head will be driving you crazy at every minor gain or stall.

Knowledge is tranquility.

Yes.  I weigh and measure everything.  When I put down that I ate 3 oz of something, it's because on my digital scale, I weighed out 3 oz.  I know to the calorie how much I eat on any given day.  My weight has been bouncing around a 2 lb range since 9/15.  Am I happy about it?  No.  From looking at my logs, do I know that my eating has been on track?  Yes.  So, I can tell myself it's just a normal weight fluctuation and i'll start heading in the right direction again, and if it doesn't, I know from looking at my overall calories and nutrient macros where to make adjustments.

I don't mean to be harsh, but when you make statements like I eat "around 2 oz" and you're not very far out from surgery, you really have no idea how much you're eating.  Hell, I'm 2 years 4 months post op and I'm still not the best at eyeballing portion size.  I hope you take all the suggestions here to weigh and measure as they are intended, we're not trying to call you out, suggest you're making bad choices or make you feel bad.  We just hope you learn from our experiences.  In my experience, the most successful people weigh and measure their food.

Good luck and know your stall will break!

Yes! I've never eaten 4 ounces of anything. It's always 4.15 ounces, or 4.3, or 4.55

Oddly, it's always over by a bit. Never, ever under.

Lol.  Usually I try to get close without going over, particularly since my revision.  Prior to that, I was fine if it was a bit over.  When I'm feeling particularly anal, and want to be exact, I'll add or remove until I'm 3.0 oz on the dot.  My dog loves when I do that because he gets the little scraps I remove from the scale!

So about how many calories do you eat a day?  My doctor told me to try to eat at least 900.  I went to my fitness pal and put in everything I have eaten today, and this is not a normal day for me but I have eaten 840 calories.  So that doesn't leave me anything for tonight hardly.  I usually don't eat but once at work because I'm so busy. My big thing is fat free milk.  I drink about three glasses a day and that has a lot of calories, I don't hardly drink water because it doesn't sit right with me.  I will sip on it but don't get much.  I love the milk and I didn't like milk before my surgery.

You might want to find something else to drink instead of the milk.  Not only is it eating up your calories, but there is a good amount of sugar in it along with carbs.  Heck I looked up 5 different brands of FF milk and they all have 11-13grams of sugar and the same for carbs, but the protein is only 8-9grams.

I would try flavored water of some sort.

Many people here seem to eat 600 - 800 during the weight loss phase.

You NEED to be pushing water. With milk only, you're getting too many calories and likely not enough fluids. Dehydration is a very real health risk! It doesn't need to be plain water; anything calorie-free is fair game, so try iced tea, SF lemonade, Mio, or Crystal Light.

It's very difficult to go by me, since I'm 2+ years out from surgery (although just 3 months out from my revision, but I was basically at goal at the time of my revision surgery).  Now, 3 months after my revision, I eat between 700-850 a day.  I have some days that are much higher, but that's my average.  I think the vets on here would counsel you to keep your calories under 800 in the early losing phase (or until you've lost a majority of your weight)  Fat free milk is, I believe, 80 cal. for 8 oz.  That's at least 240 calories right there.  If you're not measuring the size glass you're using, you may actually be drinking more calories than that.  Also, while the milk is a decent protein source, it also has a good number of carbs (6 carbs for 8 oz -- and that's using Fairlife milk which is what I drink.  If you're not drinking fairlife, your carbs are higher.)  To me, that seems like a lot of your daily calories to invest in something that doesn't give you a great amount of protein and will not keep you satisfied.

As others said, 600-800. At 3 months, I wouldn't touch 900.
