Propel for energy?
I'm going to NYC next week and it's going to be warm, I already have an issue with getting lightheaded due to being on BP meds for migraines. I'm a little concerned about walking around a lot and sweating in the heat and trying to keep up my energy between the meds and the heat.
Is Propel a hoax or something that would potentially be good to add to the water I carry with me everywhere? DH suggested it but I wasn't sure if it was something that made any sense or if I should just try to pace myself.
Thanks
Melinda

Definitely try it at home. I used to be able to drink it ( I always bought the powdered packets you add to water ), but the last time I tried it, it actually makes me feel like total crap. I got that awful semi-dumping feeling after drinking it. Unfortunately, I was NOT at home and I had to go have my reaction in my truck. It passed in a half-hour or so, but I was hating life. I don't know if I could handle the RTD bottles. I'm too afraid to try!
Hopefully it will work for you. I've just become super sensitive to certain sweeteners.

I drink Gatorade from time to time and it's pretty much the same thing. :)

I use mineral mix from emergen-c. Added to water, any flavored drink. http://www.images-iherb.com/l/ALA-30232-3.jpg
You can pick it up from almost any health food store. It is not sweet and I can mix it with as little as 4 oz of water. It fizzes so you need a larger "container" or you end up with a mess.
Don't forget salt - you can buy salt tables and just swallow that or use salty snacks.... Pickles or pickle juice is great...

I don't know about the Propel. But there are street vendors everywhere selling water and other drinks. You can stop and hydrate every 20 feet, so you won't have trouble with fluids.

If you want something portable, look into the packets like Hala mentioned, or you can also buy electrolyte drinks in tablet form-- usually sold to runners and cyclists. I like the Nuun ones, I think T uses them as well, and I buy them on Amazing. They come in a bottle the size of a small pill bottle, so very easy to keep in your purse and drop one into a water bottle as needed.
