Fortunately - with food like that - the size of my pouch - and probably the size of your sleeve will dictate moderation.

8 years post op and I can eat a burger with 1-2 slices of bacon. Or 6 chicken wings ...8 If they are small...

But I could eat a whole package of crackers...with dip...or chips, and look for something more to eat...

The great thing about WLS - that when I chose the correct food- dense proteins - my tool makes me stop before I could eat too many calories.... '

I hear ya. Sometimes I have one of those small bags of 80 calorie popcorn, its probably 2 cups when popped? Can eat the whole thing, pretty quickly too. No issues.

If I eat 2 chicken wings from the grocery store that are just fried not battered -- I'll get the foamies and barf. Theyre not even big... sometimes will get rotisserie chickens and just eat the flat wings which are TINY and a little piece of thigh meat and will be stuffed :) love the tool

Exactly...

Now some may ask how do I know I can eat a whole box of crackers?  Because I've done that...why?

Over 8 years post op there were good reasons:

  • Shear stupidity- just because I wanted crackers...
  • Horrible GERD- that nothing would help except crackers
  • At times I could not eat much if anything - and would get sick on everything but crackers...when that last a few days - you eat crackers...even with RNY - specially when you are at goal or below.
  • And last but not least - when I am at goal or below and I  follow a very low carb diet - and I don't want to lose more weight or I am trying to gain a few lbs - crackers with a good dip not only helps me re-carb (so my BS does not crash every hour or so) but they allow me to eat more calories during the day...

Moral of the story - if you want to stop losing weight or start gaining - eat crackers or other slider carb foods...

It works for me.  Or drink alcohol (i do not recommend that to anyone...)

Btw - I don't eat corn... Popcorn or any other - when I do - I almost always end up with a severe pain...

I second the GERD will make you eat a ton of crackers sentiment.  Prior to converting to RNY, I was basically eating ritz crackers all.day.long.  It was the only thing that gave me any relief from the acid.  I was rewarded with a 10 lb weight gain.

800 calories in one sleeve of Ritz. I'm quite familiar. And you can have the tiniest stomach in the world, and still eat them all day long.

I had this a couple of weeks ago! I was SO glad I'd seen someone post about 5 Guys serving bunless burgers in a box. I'd have never thought of it. I'd avoided 5 Guys since surgery. It really saved my bacon, so to speak. ( Mmm, bacon. I should have gotten bacon on my burger. )

I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

I don't know how they can do it, and no one else can. But Five Guys bacon is ALWAYS crispy.
