Does hair loss happen to everyone?

I lost a VERY small amount around 4 months but it stopped pretty quick.  I wouldn't have noticed except my brush got full of hair quicker than usual.  Zero effect on how my hair looked/felt.

I started hair loss, oddly, at 18mo post-op.  Very thin at the crown and front...thanks to the poster for the Godiva link.  Wigs are up and coming for me.

Telogen Effluvium starts around 4-5 months, and lasts 3-5 months before it stops, regardless of what vitamins or protein you consume.  It's a reaction to the trauma of surgery, not nutrition at this point.

I was about 9 months in when mine started.  Thinned out in front but seems on way to recovery

I'm at exactly 4 mo out and my hair is starting to shed. Not pulling it out by the handfuls or anything but I am losing a bit here and there. I expected it so I'm not too upset but I have really long hair and I'm quite proud of it so I'm definitely not happy. I'll just have to wait it out like everyone else.

Minde started about 3.5 months... it's not been horrible though. I haven't noticed a difference in the way I look yet... it hasn't been that long.

I am already planning a new shorter cut though, partly because if I lose enough, the longer hair won't look good on me, but the other part it my face isn't a bowling ball anymore, and I'll look cute with a new cut!

I guess I was lucky. I never lost a bit. And I never took the biotin.

Yup. Lost tons of hair between 3-6 months post RNY, I would say close to 1/3. I cut my hair short, rode it out, and it came back.

I know this really worries people about surgery, but it is really not a big deal in my opinion. Totally worth it!
