Does hair loss happen to everyone?

If so, when did you notice it start to happen?  I'm 3 months in, and I'm just waiting for it....

In the meantime, I'm taking all of my vitamins, and getting 80-100g of protein in and just crossing my fingers.

Mine started to fall out at about the 4 month mark, and I think that's a fairly common point.

It can happen also as a side effect of anesthesia. Most of us experience it to some extent.

I never noticed it, but I shaved my head at 6 weeks post-op to raise money for St. Baldricks.  :)

Secretly hoping for a flood of people to post saying it didn't happen to them!!! Hahaha my vanity is showing...

but from everything I've seen, it happens to most, to a varying extent, and most importantly, grows back.

(had to start over as it didn't copy right initially)

It did for me --- my hair REALLY thinned out =(  But I'm getting by now wearing a "Hair Piece" now for 3.5 weeks. I will be 6 mths post-op on Sept 29.  I copied my response from another thread ... I am almost tempted to buy a full wig from Godiva Secret wigs after seeing the quality of these! In a way - may be easier to wear a full wig and I do have experience from my chemo days from Breast Cancer... if I didnt give my wig away yrs ago to another survivor - I would be choosing to wear it again after 9 yrs!! Awesome you-tube videos from this company as well.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAO9jh9KBqQ     My hair piece I purchased was: http://www.godivassecretwigs.com/medium-top-w-roots/

+copied response

I had this same issue with thinning hair on my already thinned hair!! More so with the crown issue but overall - I knew I needed to do something.

Yes, I have been taking Biotin - but now I'm wearing a hair piece and it had worked extremely well for me. Many think I just got my hair colored darken with newer highlites! Saw my sister in law last night - and both my brother and her thought my hair grew back since mid-June. So actually, goes to show even though I know I have thin hair prior to this surgery (due to hypothyroid) ppl didn't really notice just how much thinning I had! People I work with closely know its a hair piece once I told them - my boss said if she didn't know me for this past year - she won't have never guessed its a wigs - looks soooo natural and real. Its been great with this weight loss and new wig!!

Here is the LINK -- take a look. Can even get Longer hair pieces as well etc. Last week, I had my hair dresser colored my own hair to make it look richer yet to match even closer to the hair piece... that basically was already "spot-on" for matching =) Who knows - I just might do this long term... I bought the ICED Mocha color -- maybe next spring I will buy this same hair piece but in the Sugar Maple color!!

I never lost any. Never took biotin or anything else. I washed my hair with the same bar of soap I washed everything else with.

You will either lose some, or you won't. Nothing you can do will alter it.
