Until yesterday I had never heard of Elli Quark, a Greek Yogurt alternative.  I came across it while reading the daily Hungry Girl newsletter.  I researched this product, then ran it past my RD.  She approved it for use, saying it fits into our WLS meal guidelines.

Elli Quark is a cross between Greek yogurt and cottage cheese.  It has a smooth texture.  The 6ozs containers have 80 calories, 14g of protein, 0g of fat, and 5g of sugar.  Super Target carries a few of the flavors or a 12 pack can be ordered from Elli Quark.  I will be trying this product!

I've got some Quark in my freezer that I keep forgetting about.  My local grocery store (Safeway) carries it.

Another alternative is Skyr, it's like Icelandic yogurt, often higher in protein than Greek and I found it a little less bitter!

Sounds good - let us know what you think.  I'm sure I can find a Super Target.

Quark seems to be really uncommon in the US?

I see on the carton it says "German Style". I wonder if it's really comparable with the stuff you get in Germany.
