Lapband removal now want bypass. Questions!!
For me the experiences are night and day different. I don't know really what full feels like because even at three years out, I eat a set portion of food. In the early days post-op revision, I'd get the soft signals like dripping nose, or sharp pain on the left under my breast. But now? I eat very small amounts every 3-4 hours and I am never hungry, nor stuck or sliming like before. And I have never thrown up with my Bypass - whereas it was a daily occurrence with the Band, almost every meal I eat towards the end.
My Bypass upgrade is the best decision I've made in the last 10 years. I would do it over again every year if need be - it is that fantastic of a tool. Good luck!
I was banded in 2007, removed in 2015. I threw up every single meal. It was like I had bulimia. Then all of a sudden I lost restriction and gained FAST!
I was sleeved on Aug 9th and I'm very happy. I'm also angry at my weight loss team. I went in in 2013 and it took them 2 years to decide to remove the band. I also had to jump through hoops. I was so angry to have to start the entire program again. A year after I was approved I received the sleeve.
It actually makes me feel FULL, whereas the band made me feel STUCK. I wish i would've had this done 10 years ago.
I had similiar experience! And because i could eat nothing without throwing up i resorted to ice cream etc. it was a tool that gave me more pain than anything. But am scared as to what will stop me from eating!! I had it removed just about a yr ago and gained 10lbs. But im done! Im about to turn 53 im tired of the battle!!!
I had lapband removal and RNY on May 27, and it is the best decision I ever made! I do not any longer vomit all the time, or have the pain that restriction caused. I now just feel full faster, and it is a great feeling! This is so much better! I would highly recommend it!!!!

Ive had my lapband since 2006 and I'm revising to RNY on 9/23. I had similar questions which I've asked on this board. Here's a link to responses that I received. I can't wait to get this thing out of me.

Yes I had to redo everything but the insurance required it as well. He is a great Dr. I know we are in good hands.
