My physician said that on this website somewhere was a card we could get so that when we go out to eat it will allow us to order off of the kid menu but I cant locate it but can anyone help me find it?

I'm not sure where it is- but really, I can't see why anyone would want to use it. Typically kids menus are not foods we should be eating post WLS. And no restaurant is obligated to honor the card either.

I don't use one. I get grilled something and take the rest home. Cracker barrel allows you to order kids meals and the have broiled fish, etc. Chick-fila and captain d's also i can order something healthy from.

you will see what you can and cant eat. besides almost everyplace has grilled chicken

Here is the link to the card you are speaking of.  Some restaurants accept and some don't.

My doc gave me one in my discharge packet, but I never used it. Most restaurants are pretty good about adjusting your order. And you have leftovers...

Ask nicely, and you'll never need a card. Say please, don't make a fuss, be grateful and kind to your server.

"Is there a chance I could have broccoli instead of potatoes? I'll pay the difference if I need to, I'm staying away from carbs. Thanks!"

"Would it be possible to get a lunch portion? I don't think I could eat a full plate and I'd rather not waste food."

I do this all the time, Julie, and have never had a waiter say no.  I always tip extra too, for their trouble.  Never a complaint either!

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Honestly, I m not comfortable sharing my medical situation with servers and restaurant staff.

kids menus mostly have crap on them, so I order what I want, I eat about 1/4 of it and I take the rest home or leave it and consider it the price of entertainment.

I eat out all of the time and just ask the server for what I want.  I have never had a problem. I ordered a kids meal of a chicken breast very early on and a steak kabob one other time. I typically just ask the server for a suggestion as to how I can get what I want (without looking at the menu and being tempted).  I ask if they can just grill shrimp or scallops with no sides.  I have had great success and they have been very good about it.  Don't be afraid to ask for what you need. Good luck.

I agree with the other posters. Kids menus are generally carb-loaded crap food. Usually when I go out I end up just asking the server if I can get a side if chicken breasts or a sandwich with no bread, etc. I also ask for a to-go box right away so I can portion my food out and put the rest away so I don't overeat. Personally I love that I always have leftovers! It's like getting 2-3 meals in one!
