Hello- I had surgery on August 22nd but wasn't released from Scripps until August 27th. I was in immense pain the entire time the Dilaudid and Oxycodone did nothing but make me sleepy never took the pain away. When I finally had a BM on the 26th it was painful and explosive (TMI). Right now at home I can't eat broth nor jello without having explosive diarrhea all day long and feeling as if I have to vomit. I can't possibly be getting enough coloric intake as right now I can barely handle a jello a day. The prescribed Augmenten also makes me sick.

I return for my Post Op visit is Tuesday to Also have my staples removed from the gallbladder removal but I just feel like things aren't right. Where my gallbladder was I also have sharp pains that stop me from being as active (walking) as I'd like.

Any help?

Not sure if this is the same thing for you, but i had my gallbladder taken out and had diarrhea every time i ate. it's now been  about 4 year since it was removed and it is way better than before where i only get diarrhea if i eat bad stuff. I have not had WLS, so i can't comment on that, but just thought I'd let you know about the gallbladder issue.

Right now I'm on the clears diet so my options are limited but my body and that broth did not get along at all. It's partial to jello but I'm running out of options here and I'm hungry.

Having your gallbladder removed will do that to you for a while. Also it is normal to have pain where your gallbladder used to be for some people .... They have to cauterize your liver bed sometimes a little and sometimes a lot ... Depending on how stuck to the liver bed your gall bladder is. Also the antibiotic can cause upset stomach. You have a lot going on right now . Don't worry about not getting in enough nutrition at this point... Just focus on sipping, walking, and protein if you can. It will get better everyday .
